Trusting Through the Trial
Sunday Word
Beloved family and friends, Today I want to speak straight from my heart to yours about trust — real trust — the kind that holds steady when everything around you feels uncertain. Just recently I was laid off from my full time job (Not connected to this Ministry). Overnight the steady paycheck was gone. We’ve started looking at other areas to live, considering relocating because of the cost of living, seeking lower property taxes, hoping for a better life, maybe more land, more space to flourish this Ministry, more of what our hearts have been quietly desiring.
It’s a lot. The questions come fast. What’s next? Where do we go? How do we provide? Will this work out? But here is what I keep coming back to: God moves us. He knows the plan. He also knows our desires — including the longing for land and open space.
And He is doing a new thing. Isaiah 43:19 says, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Trials are not accidents.
God allows them so we grow. James 1:2-4 tells us to consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds, because the testing of our faith produces perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that we may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Right now this season feels like a wilderness. But the same God who led His people through the desert is leading us. He is not surprised by the layoff. He is not scrambling for a plan B. He is already making a way.
Trust is not the absence of questions.
Trust is choosing to believe God is good even while the questions remain.
Trust says, “I don’t have all the answers, but I know the One who does.”
Trust says, “I will not let fear write the next chapter — I will let God write it.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” When the path feels unclear, trust keeps walking.
When the provision feels delayed, trust keeps believing.
When the desire for land and a better life feels out of reach, trust keeps hoping in the God who knows those desires better than we do.
This trial is not the end of the story. It is the soil where deeper faith grows. God is pruning, preparing, and positioning us for the new thing He has already planned. So we choose trust.
Trust that He knows the desires of our hearts.
Trust that He is working all things together for good.
Trust that this trial is growing something in us that comfort never could.
Trust that the new thing He is doing is better than the old thing we lost.
My friend, if you are walking through a trial of your own — a job loss, a closed door, a forced change, an unknown future — hear this: God has not forgotten you. He is not finished with you. He is doing a new thing. Will you trust Him with it today?
Will you open your hands and let Him lead, even when you can’t see the full picture?
Let’s pray together: Lord Jesus, thank You that You know the plans You have for us. Thank You that You know the desires of our hearts — for land, for provision, for a better life. Even in this trial of job loss and uncertainty, we choose to trust You. Do the new thing You have promised. Grow us. Lead us. Make a way in this wilderness. We place our future in Your hands. In Your mighty name, Amen.
If this message touched your heart, share it with someone who needs to be reminded that God is still writing their story. You are not alone in the trial. He is doing a new thing.
With love and faith,
JR Tyndale Ministries
