Keep the Fire Lit
Faith Compass
Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.
Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
Morning Light
Anybody who’s had a woodstove knows the truth. A fire doesn’t die all at once. It dies when nobody feeds it. A log here, a stir there, and it keeps roaring all night. Walk away and forget, and by morning you’ve got cold ash. The priests in the temple had one standing order: keep the fire on the altar burning. Every day, new wood. Your faith works the same way. Nobody wakes up one morning and decides to go cold on God. It happens a skipped prayer at a time, one busy day stacked on another. The good news is, embers don’t take much. One honest prayer and one verse can bring the flame back. So feed the fire today. Give Him your first log.
Walk It Out
Pick one small thing today, like a verse, a worship song in the car or a five-minute prayer, and give it to God on purpose.
Text a friend who’s been quiet lately. One word of encouragement can turn an ember back into a flame.
Quiet Place
Father, I’ll be honest. Some days my fire burns low. I get busy, I get tired, and before I know it the flame is just embers. I don’t want to coast. Breathe on me again, Holy Spirit. Stir up the love I had for You when You first found me. Give me a hunger for Your Word and a fresh passion to serve You. Keep me burning steady, not just when I feel it, but every day. In Jesus’ name, amen. “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you…” 2 Timothy 1:6
